Love finds a way

I write of love because I bow to love. I am

Overjoyed by the very notion of love and

Find its existence utterly breathtaking. Love

And forgiveness, how dark the world without

These two beacons of light

This wild attraction, this irresistible magnetism

Hearts in jeopardy, love on the rocks. A chance

Encounter, a fleeting glimpse that demands a

Visit to the same place, on the same day, at the

Same hour in hope of another ‘chance encounter’

An impulse that cannot be manufactured nor

Can it be faked

Love finds a way, although it is perfectly true that

Love can and does die. A fact I am always aware

Of and always saddened by but love finds a way

In so many different ways and love comes back

Into being because love itself will never die. Never

Die because there is no power on earth sufficiently

Persuasive to match the surge, the urge, the force

The fire, that hurls we mortals into the arms of love

Love is mystery far beyond any yardstick known to

Man. What formula is there to explain those beautiful

Moments when from across a room eyes meet for the

First time in delicate quizzical uncertainty? Neither

Knowing for sure what sorcery kept their eyes locked

Together milliseconds longer than might be appropriate

In other circumstances, but propriety aside, these are

The 'circumstances of love’ captured in an instant and

Held in wait until – Love finds a way
