Blunted glass

Come touch the scars of distant past

Run fingers through the blunted glass

Search find the page the jealous note

The shard that turned and hurt the most

The blood that flowed and would not stop

The stiffened muscle hard as rock

A night of anguish worse than death

Too young the life, too old the bed

Touch now or never touch again

Take what you will relieve the pain

Moist lips that welcomed heaven’s rage

Come touch the scars, come turn the page

She asks no more of you than love

Come touch the scars if man enough

Come feel the pain of latter days

It’s in her eyes, she’s yours to save
