The Backyard Of My Life

Night Fishing In The Desert

Night fishing in the desert sand
Hoping to hook me some gold
When over walks a woman wearing diamond shoes
She points to the yellow brick road

She said far past the pyramids
Towards the temple of doom
Deep down in the valley
Beyond a misty moon
There's something easy to catch
Climbed on a camel sparked up a match
She said there's an itch that am dying to scratch

Day dreaming in the midnight hour
Searching for the long lost jewels
With the woman in leopard skin
Still looking sour
Holding a map for the brave and the fools

She said lets take some shelter from the rain
Pick up the trail in the morning again
I never slept a wink we were up till the turning of dawn
Following the clues from the map that's torn

Night swimming in the desert sky
Waiting to see something real
When the woman wearing a ruby and pearls
Told me to take the dark deal

We arrived at the ruins
But the treasure was gone
There was only a hole in the ground
Determined we would be second to none
With the empty promise we found
I handed her a rainbow
Then we parted ways
I went back to night fishing in the desert
While shes dreaming in the days
