A new way

I used to cry myself asleep at night
from all the loneliness and pain
but no more that was all before you came
From that moment my life has never been the same
I will admit at times I'm afraid
But you didn't run you were patient with me and you stayed
I can't help but run in your direction
I can't fight this type of affection
and lord knows I cannot deny this connection
if I don't watch myself I could fall in love with you
wait.... I have to tell you the truth
oh my God I am in love with you
I told myself I was waiting for God to show me what to do
or was it that I was really  just waiting on you
I couldn't help it I fell for you
you seem have this hold on me
and for the life of me I can't break free
it feels like I need you and I need you to need me
but I guess we'll just have to wait and see
I've been looking for love in all the wrong places
and  found nothing but shadows and empty spaces
not to mention a broken heart or two but it was God's grace always encouraging me to push through
so this much I know is true
it was him who has sent you because for some reason my heart has opened up only for you
to a place where others could not get in
to a place that is very deep within you're the reason I know true love exist
you're the reason my heart feels like trusting love is no longer a risk
your love has saved me
so I pray that our love is meant to be
this race for finding and trusting love is not given to the swift nor to the strong
but to those who are willing to carry on
and those who are willing to see past the old hurts and pain
those who are willing listen when God tells you his or her name
Those willing to do whatever it takes to make this new love work
so it's by the grace of God that I will say
that I will promised you to love you on this day in each and every way because  God has shown me how love a new way
