Rest Well
God is our strong refuge,
Helper in times of trouble;
Shelters us from the deluge,
Pulling us from the rubble.
This is why we do not fear,
When we would feel the earth shake;
Knowing that the Lord is near,
Protecting me from the quake.
Mountains fall into the sea,
Causing waves to crash and foam;
Winds surging waves to be free,
Being tossed around to roam.
A river of flowing joy,
Flows to the city of God;
Refreshing waters deploy,
The cleansing power where flawed.
Where God lives it will not move,
Helping at the break of dawn;
For a new life to improve,
As past records will be gone.
Nations are in an uproar,
As kingdoms are overthrown;
As fire will start to pour,
Melts the earth to molten stone.
The Lord of Hosts is with us,
He is our protector;
A refuge and shield as thus,
For we are His elector.
Behold the works of the Lord,
Devastation to the earth;
Mighty acts never ignored,
Making the way to new birth.
He brings an end to all war,
Shatters the bow, breaks the spear;
Melts the shield of the centaur,
Making evil disappear.
Be still and know He is God,
Stop striving and recognize;
Exalt to honor and laud,
He will make you very wise.
Let the Lord of Host command,
For He is on our side;
Allow your mind to expand,
As you learn how to abide.
