Jesus Is Missing

T'was on the journey back to Nazareth
After Passover in Jeruselem
           That Mary and Joseph discover
Their 12-year-old son is not with them.

Jesus is missing so they have to turn back
And three frantic days later they find
Their boy in the Temple amazing the Teachers
With wisdom from such a young mind.

Mary, the typical mother, expresses
To Jesus how He'd caused them concern...
His answer was one of the many she'd ponder
But right then and there she must learn

That His Father's business was first and formost
And His ministry only begun...
It was a clear revelation He knew of His mission...
That God would speak out through His Son.

It was clear that the Temple was an attraction
The young Messiah found hard to depart.
A replica of Heaven where His Father is worshipped
Must have taken first place in His heart.

But, ever obedient, He went home with His parents
To await God's full purpose for Him.
When there on the Cross He declared "It is finished,"
He'd taken care of the business of sin.

Jesus is missing at twelve years of age...
Yet in some lives He's still missing today
Some don't take the time to attend any church
And any ties to the Christ slipped away

No Bibles are read...no sermons are heard
No Blood is applied to one's sin.
There is no hope of Heaven and Hell loves the fact
That Jesus is missing again.

~~Dedicated to Ginger~~

Luke 2:41-51
41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year
at the feast of the passover.
42 And when he was twelve years old, they went up to
Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.
43 And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus
tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.
44 But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's
journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.
45 And when they found him not, they turned back again to
Jerusalem, seeking him.
46 And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple,
sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.
47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding
and answers.
48 And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him,
Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.
49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be
about my Father's business?
50 And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.
51 And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject
unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart

John 17:4
I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do.

 John 19:30
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his
head, and gave up the ghost.
