“Sudden Interest”
She had caught
him
stealing a couple
of glances
of her
when he thought
she wasn’t looking
a little surprised
by this sudden
interest in her
and not really
sure
how she feels
about it,
she had just
broken up
with her boyfriend
a few weeks
ago
not really sure
she wants to
drop herself
into the middle
of a new mess
it took her
a month to
crawl out of
the last mess
though that guy
was pretty damn
hot
so she didn’t
crawl
quite as fast
as she
could have
there is something
to be said
about raw animal
magnetism
yea,
she didn’t crawl
very fast at
all,
she looks in
his direction
he looks down
and away
he’s kind of
cute
she had never
thought of him
as boyfriend
material
or really ever
thought of him
in any capacity
she watches him
as he walks
towards her
he looked up
and she catches
his eye
trapping his
glance
so he can’t
look away
it’s not hard
to see her
stare
is making him
nervous
that will teach
him
for getting a
sudden interest
in her
she gives him
a quizzical look
making sure he
continues in
her direction
to respond
to said look
her curiosity
peaked,
they exchanged
small words
as she carefully
probes
his reactions
and mannerisms
to a few of
her exploratory
questions
he gives her
a goofy smile
as he heads
off
after their little
chat
one thing is
obvious
to her
he likes her
a lot
but has no
idea
what to do
about it
which is sort
of cute
or homely
not ready to
choose which
one yet,
but the mystery
as to why
she was getting
so much attention
so suddenly
was answered
he kept looking
ay her left
hand
she had forgotten
she quit wearing
a ring on her
finger
when she broke
up
with her boyfriend
the exact time
his smiles started
getting wider
and his looks
began to linger
funny she didn’t
pick up on
that sooner
never really
thinking
anyone would
notice
such a small
detail
of her daily
look
which makes her
wonder
if any of the
guys
with a wider
bad boy streak
to them
has taken any
new interest
in her also,
her mind begins
to kick around
a couple of
names and faces
she wouldn’t mind
getting some extra
special attention
from
she was working
on a mild
day time fantasy
that included
one of the
fore mentioned
faces
among his other
parts
when he and
that stupid
smile
made their way
across her field
of vision
totally squashing
the best part
of her
time killing
fantasy,
she watches his
clunky motion
a physical mimic
of him in
conversation
when he’s
in front of
or talking to
a woman
he likes
she had seen
it with him
before
only she had
never been the
woman
causing it,
it’s not like
he’s an orc
he can even
be pretty funny
when not under
the stress of
a pretty face
he’s in great
shape
no fat on
that bone
he does have
some strong
possibilities
maybe if she
dirtied him up
a bit
she could push
him
from borderline
homely
to cute
on that sliding
scale
of attraction,
she tried to
work him into
one of her
more popular
time killing
fantasies
it certainly
wasn’t moving
as smoothly
as it was earlier
even here
he seems to
be clunking
around,
let’s just wait
and see if
any of those
other tigers
decide to give
her a bite
before she starts
handing him back
smiles
or she could
always wear
one of her
heart stopping
outfits
if she decides
she wants to
force the issue
and give him
no choice
other than to
ask her out
but for now
she’ll wait,

she’s watching
