Doubting Armchair Sleuth

I'm tempted to turn my TV off
Anytime I watch the news
Because of gross dishonesty
And oft one-sided views.

But I want to be on top of things
And choose to stay aware
For myself, my friends, and family
Since deceit is everywhere.

It's a monumental task these days
To determine what is real
Knowing journalists are so biased
And their stories lack appeal

Yes, news is quite misleading
And so often compromised
While good things that are taking place
Are ignored or trivialized.

So, on second thought, I'll leave it on
I have to seek the truth
And with that said, I shall remain
A doubting armchair sleuth.
