The Memories I Keep
The Last Picture
When on earth I take my final breath
And only photos remain after death
I sometimes wonder how it will be
The last picture of my life's history
When at my funeral people will see
In many reflections a part of me
In photos collected from my past
Will they know which one is my last
Will I be alone or beside a friend
Will I be partying on the weekend
Will I be making a funny face
Or visiting some exotic place
Will I be at the beach or beside a pool
Will I be with the kids at their school
Will it be a selfie inside my car
Or perhaps at night beneath the stars
Will I be young or growing old
Will it begin a good story told
Will it be with my faithful pet
Or with new strangers I just met
Will it reveal success in my life
Or one of hardship and endless strife
Will it show me happy or being sad
Will I be doing good or acting bad
Will it glow from God's Light in me
and show my love for my family
Will it reveal how blessed I've been
From life's beginning to the end
So, when someone asks you, “Take a pic please”
Remember to smile don't forget to say, “cheese”
And cherish the memory that you will make
It could be the last picture... you ever take
And only photos remain after death
I sometimes wonder how it will be
The last picture of my life's history
When at my funeral people will see
In many reflections a part of me
In photos collected from my past
Will they know which one is my last
Will I be alone or beside a friend
