Freedom Isn't Free
For those who serve our country
My hat is off to you
And to the ones who served before
Who deserve the same just due.
Regardless of your gender
You took a solemn vow
To guard the gates of freedom
Which you are doing now.
You sacrifice so much for us
And for this land you love
Resolved to meet with lethal force
If push should come to shove.
But we don't take that for granted
For freedom isn't free
It requires the brave to stand up strong
And protect our sovereignty.
Yes, my hat is off to each of you
And to all who served to date
For without your heeding freedom's call
Oh, what would be our fate?
