this is for you
one who feels
you're not welcome
not present
not in your step
nor in a bed
nor in a home

this is for you
one who feels not alone
in your life
out of your skin
lost before you began

this is for you

one who feels
they've no place
or destination to go
not on a roadmap
nor in their job
or their family
in the world
mostly
ghostly
alone

this is for you

I'm here to tell you
you have been seen
I know you
I've been you
been where you've been
I am you

if one person notices
how could your cares be invisible
you are still
an individual
singular as the day you were born
one of
God's own

even if your Mother, your Father
your sister or brother
did not look back into your eyes
and acknowledged you there
and when strangers didn't care
when you were last picked
or first despised

I saw
I noticed
I felt
with my heart
and my eyes

I've been you
I know you
and why you stare deeply inside
with vacant shadowy eyes

do not mistake yourself
nor forsake yourself
you are not their lies

you're one of a kind

reach out your hand
speak up to the skies
hug yourself tightly then
look into my eyes
I see you
yes,
you-there.
