When we were kids on Christmas Eve
We whole heartedly did believe
That Santa had parcels on his sleigh
For us to open on Christmas Day.
The elves waved him off and wished him haste
For he didn`t have any time to waste,
Lots of parcels to deliver in one night
So the reindeers pulled with all their might.
We`d lie there listening for Santa`s sleigh
For we were sure he was on his way,
We hoped to get what was on our list
And prayed that we would not be missed.
With heavy eyes we`d drift off to sleep
Having perhaps just one last peep,
When morning came we`d look and see
And try and guess what the presents could be.
We`d jump up from our warm cosy beds
And start ripping the Xmas paper to shreds,
Laughter and joy seemed to lift the roof
Santa had been and this was the proof.
