Petes Poetry

Meow

The curiosity that killed the cat.
Nine lives, well I've had more than that.

So sleep the day, in the sunlight.
It's cat and mouse, the instinct to fight.

So piss on and out my territory.
The fatal attraction, that's actually predatory

So keep me warm as I sit by the fire.
The cravings of love yours and my desire.

So pull my tail, scratch me behind the ears.
I'll comfort you, in despair and tears.

So sleep at my feet, when I'm in slumber
The dreams caught, in nights endless wonder.

So feed me snappy Tom or Friskies feast
For this is evolution, my ancestors ferocious beasts.

So as I meow at your door, or climb your fly screen.
Let me in, for I the prodigal, and finding a home my dream.
