Barry was born in Nanty Glow,
Pennsylvania on December 29,
1945 to Mary and Lewis Hardin.
He came to California when he was 9 years old.
He met his wife Pat when he was 15
And started dating her when he was 16.
He graduated from Sunnyvale High School
And enlisted in the Navy when he was 17.
Barry then married his sweetheart Pat
And they were married for 54 years.
After coming back from Vietnam he became
A father of a beautiful baby girl Tammy.
He embraced father-hood by getting a job
At Raychem, buying a home,
And having two more daughters Kimberly and Doreen. Barry was an amazing son,
Brother, uncle, husband,
Father, grandfather, great grandfather,
And friend.
He was a hard worker who provided for his family
And most important loved the Lord.
He taught his children about the love of Christ.
Barry lived by example by going to church,
Reading his bible, and praying before every single meal.
Every morning he read his bible
And did his puzzles happily with a cup of coffee.
He bowled and golfed every week with friends
Who loved Barry very much? And his ability to poke fun at himself.
He was very humble and a big hearted man.
His daughters called him a big teddy bear
Because they knew he was a softy
Especially with his Chi-weenie dog Sophie.
Barry was a big 49'er and Giants fan.
He often would watch the games
At home because he wasn't a big fan of crowds.
He also loved the outdoors so he bought a trailer.
He and Pat loved to camp and once a year
Bring the family to enjoy it with them.
Barry was a very generous person who gave
Everyone the benefit of the doubt.
He never judged but would try to put himself
In their shoes that is one of the attributes
Barry often stood out because of his sense of humor
People loved most about him.
Barry was diagnosed in August with Lymphoblastic Lymphoma.
He knew he was going to fight it
And he did with dignity and courage.
After 3 rounds of chemo his body
Was tired and doctors told him
There was nothing else they could do.
Barry was okay with the doctor's decision.
He said he had peace
And was ready to go home with the Lord.
Barry quietly passed on December 22nd.
Barry will always be remembered
And missed for his generosity,
Love for others, and his humor.
I have a life time of memories with my dad
But one of my favorites is when I was little
And my dad was getting ready to go out him
Would sing Elvis priestly songs in the bathroom
And when he would come out it smelled like
Old spice he used that for years. I love that smell
It reminds me of my dad.
