I urge you to walk in a way,
A way worthy to the calling;
Not to be lured causing to stray,
From the grace result in falling.
Humility and gentleness,
For patience with one another;
You deserve of His blessedness,
When showing love for each other.
Eagerly maintain unity,
Of the Spirit to bond in peace;
Displaying of your purity,
A righteousness that will not cease.
For one body and one Spirit,
Which is the same as you were called;
To the one hope from your merit,
No longer will you become flawed.
One faith and baptized in one Lord,
One God and a Father of all;
A triune God in one accord,
Who is answering our call.
Grace was given to each of us,
As to the measure of the gift;
That the Father giving as thus,
Building confidence to uplift.
So, when Christ ascended on high,
He had led a host of captives;
Gave gifts to men from their outcry,
From a caring God who forgives.
What does it mean for to ascend,
When He descended to the deep;
The lower regions to defend,
Us from Satan when we will sleep.
He who descended is the One,
Who also ascended above;
Into Heaven which is the Son,
That He might fill all things with love.
