Fixing a heart and soul

Together we sat with our hearts broken.
Knowing something inside had just awoken.
Piece by piece we started mending our heart.
Some pieces found there place easily,
But some pieces didn't know their part.
That's when we would turn to each other, the other knew.
Because of the support of the other we will make it through.

Piece by piece, our hearts began to become whole.
Now that our heart was mended we had to fix our soul.
Our lifes experiences have damaged our trust,
We knew the importance so mending it was a must.
Again we started putting parts in their place.
But there still were some our trust wouldn't face.
We knew the heartache that would come, we were afraid.
Recalling the pain when that trust began to fade.
That's when we would turn to the other, the other somehow knew.
By trusting one another we would always get through.

The trust was built, in each other we placed our faith.
Step by step, nail by nail, board by board each piece found its place.
So now here we are, both heart and souls now whole.
Now we have to fill it with love so that it will grow.
Honesty now who can fill it,
There is no question who.
The one who helped us,
Obviously it is you.
