Reflection: Inspirational Verse
read the parable
of butterfly wings and God,
yet it seems it's the cut cocoon for me,
with wings deformed and shriveled
is this the beauty Angelou speaks of?
maybe some never get to the beauty
only to the struggle,
even when people smile and laugh
the beauty won't be seen
and certainly it's forgotten,
so internally the story
will remain to be bared,
and the inspiration invoked
by Angelou's words
will remain at the threshold
of a traditional archetypal story
to be read and heard only
in the attic spaces of an arcadia mind.
of butterfly wings and God,
yet it seems it's the cut cocoon for me,
with wings deformed and shriveled
is this the beauty Angelou speaks of?
maybe some never get to the beauty
only to the struggle,
even when people smile and laugh
the beauty won't be seen
and certainly it's forgotten,
so internally the story
will remain to be bared,
and the inspiration invoked
by Angelou's words
will remain at the threshold
of a traditional archetypal story
to be read and heard only
in the attic spaces of an arcadia mind.
