Poetic Verses

So Many Years Ago

Well, here I am just puttering along
And feeling tired and slow
Having gone too far to turn around
So many years ago.

I'm overdue a tune-up
And the wrinkles on my skin
Remind me as I amble on
How fleeting life has been.

Yet it seems like only yesterday
When I was in my prime
But now, the years keep telling me
I'm running out of time.

But no; I've not been cheated
For life's been good to me
Having played the hand that I was dealt
And blessed enormously.

It's said that into every life
There has to be some rain
But since I've known more good than bad
I've no cause to complain.

Yes, here I am just puttering along
And feeling tired and slow
Having gone too far to turn around
So many years ago.
