For every kind of beast,
That has been tamed by mankind;
Every creature at least,
Aware of the human mind.
No human can tame the tongue,
It is a restless evil;
Deadly poison that is flung,
Replenished by the devil.
With it we bless our Lord,
And then curse other people;
The tongue seems to have ignored
After leaving the temple.
From the same mouth comes blessings,
Then our brothers cursing;
For what spoken of these things,
To corrupt for coercing.
Do springs flow with fresh or salt,
Water as sweet or bitter;
Blaming others of your fault,
When you have been the quitter.
Can a fig tree bear olives,
Or a grapevine produce figs;
As a tree chopped down that lives,
When they would have dried up twigs.
So, who is understanding,
Amongst you considered wise;
With good conduct demanding,
Through insight to open eyes.
Works in meekness of wisdom,
Without envy of the heart;
Guiding you to His Kingdom,
Giving you of a new start.
But bitterness in the mind,
Selfish ambition makes strife;
Causes the heart to go blind,
Believing fake news in life.
The wisdom comes from above,
But the fake news comes from earth;
For wisdom has peace and love,
Giving your mind a new birth.
Wisdom from above is pure,
Peaceable full of mercy;
Blocking you from evil lure,
Avoiding controversy.
