A Dark Prayer

Oh dark of darkness
and black of night
please give me strength
and true inner sight
to heed the evils
and the blight
of sins committed by
all mankind, to act
when faced by the wrongs
wrought by humanity
and sooth those hurt
by all calamity
so dark of night
give me the sanity
to choose the good
the wrong from right
and pray one day
that I can be
salvation's answer
a ray of light
