I ask and urge of you,
As you received from me;
Your walk with God be true,
Open your eyes to see.
You know what instruction,
That I gave through the Lord;
Those causing obstruction,
Let them not be ignored.
This is the will of God,
Your sanctification;
Giving honor and laud,
As to have salvation.
You must always abstain,
From immorality;
Sexually profane,
An illegality.
So, each one of you know,
Your body to control;
In holiness to show,
The Spirit guards your soul.
Let not passionate lust,
Causes you to transgress;
But keep God in your trust,
Prepare for God to bless.
Never try to transgress,
Doing wrong to his brother;
It will just cause distress,
bad blood with each other.
God is an avenger,
You are solemnly warned;
You will be a stranger,
From Christ you will be scorned.
God has not called on us,
As unclean and impure;
But holiness as thus,
Confession is the cure.
Aim to live quietly,
And mind your own affair;
Using simplicity,
Walking with those who care.
