When I had come to you,
I came not to proclaim;
With wisdom to construe,
Iniquities causing you shame.
Proclaim to testify,
Of God with lofty speech;
That we could not deny,
Declaring what we preach.
I decided to know,
Of nothing among you;
That Jesus Christ did show,
The crucified is true.
He was with you when weak,
Times trembled and in fear;
When in prayer as to seek,
He assures to be near.
My speech and my preaching,
Without enticing words;
Not plausible teaching,
To realize afterwards.
Demonstrate the power,
Of the Holy Spirit;
Making foes to cower,
From their wicked merit.
So, your faith might not rest,
In the wisdom of men;
The might of God is best,
To beat evil again.
Yet among the mature,
We do impart wisdom;
Has been remaining pure,
That flows from His Kingdom.
Not wisdom of this age,
But doomed to pass away;
Bringing us to this stage,
Caused some to go astray.
Yet not worldly wisdom,
Nor rulers of the world;
Changes from the freedom,
What evil has been hurled.
What no eye that has seen,
No ear has ever heard;
Of the things that have been,
Been written in the Word.
