Spent a lot of mt life at a height
Of thirty odd plus thousand feet
To and from different countries
Sights seen dearest souls to meet
Many country singers sights as well
A lot now have gone to another class
But all I met and all I learned over time
Remains memories still clear as glass
I visited homes of people many pay for
Just to go listen to many of them sing
I too sang along then with them then
Such memories life can surely bring
I still have my voice as good as then
Country love Irish I've been told today
One said I'd never need an instument
It comes from one's heart dare I say
Many they strum five cords and some
But old songs they still remain with me
My father too he had a beautiful voice
And he just passed it onto me for free
He had so much of woe in his life it's so
However always he had endless time
To give to those that had little I suppose
And he at all times in life walked the line
That's why a country song tells a story true
So many more should listen to the words
They just appreciate the tune sun or moon
So much fly over their minds just like birds
So many songs are somebody else's stories
Once endured lived survived all life through
Not a word of a lie as their life it slipped by
Bit the bullet then one sang of all it's true
There's no end of tales to tell in this our life
But these days harder times are almost gone
All my poetry is meted all can be thus sung
Of life hard times friends knew another song
And there was I so often away up in the sky
Looking out a window in storm sunshine too
And endless a song I flew at height day night
Writing my poetry and songs as silently I flew
