LONELY CHRISTMAS

LONELY CHRISTMAS

I love Christmas for the children`s sake
Yet at this time of year my heart does ache,
I miss you so much more on Christmas Day
And missing you never seems to go away.

When I got home from work on Christmas Day
You wanted your present without delay,
I would open the door and let you loose
So your present you could produce.

Don`t know how you found it in such a big stack
But you`d pick yours out even from the back,
You`d open it carefully piece by piece
Until your Christmas present you did release.

Then you would kindly help me to open mine
But I didn`t mind it really was fine,
Together we`d discover what was inside
Now of these simple pleasures I am denied.

Watching you on Xmas Day was such a joy
As excited as any child with a new toy,
I miss all those things but I miss you more
You were always waiting for me by the door.

Merry Christmas Sweep Wherever You Are
I miss you.
