The Backyard Of My Life

Misty Morning With Yellow Roses

She was carrying some yellow roses
Wearing a long black dress
Where she parked the mother ship
Was anybody's guess
She came straight from out of space
With a sacred story written upon her face

Tell me what you want
Show me what you need
I will give you the world
In the palm of your hand
On a velvet beach far from the reach
Of sorrow slowly sinking in the sand

She looked right through me with x-ray eyes
She stood outside my window
While she whispered softly spoken lies
Come tomorrow come what may
Sometimes visions vanish or simply fade away
Whatever you do don't take it to bad

Say what you mean
I know how you feel
Watching the colors collide
When the scales start to tip
Under a desert sky where angels cry
Shes so crazy her nervous system starts to slip

Searching for something
She cant quiet put her finger on
She only knows loves been and gone

She was dripping in her youthful dreams
Wearing a chain of broken clocks
Trying to catch the sound
Of old records on the jukebox
She listens to the voices inside her head
She can never remember all the things they said
Its another misty morning

Don't try to hold on
You got to let go
No regrets no tears goodbye
Smoke rises up from the fire
On a crimson night where words take flight
To wash away desire
