Hear the Word of the Lord,
Give an ear what is taught;
Heed not to be ignored,
To what is being sought.
Give an ear to the Law,
Reasons for sacrifice;
Avoid what makes a flaw,
Temptations that entice.
God delights not in blood,
Burnt offerings from beasts;
Neither causing a flood,
Washing away your feasts.
When you come to appear,
Who asks to tread His courts;
When you do not revere,
Speaking His Word distorts.
Bring no vain offerings,
Incense as abominations;
Of what the Sabbath brings,
Calls of convocations.
The Lord cannot endure,
Any iniquity;
The temptations that lure,
Or solemn assembly.
Your new moons festivals,
And your appointed feasts;
Observed with carnivals,
God hates things done by priests.
When you spread out your hands,
The Lord will hide His eyes;
You make many demands,
In your prayers in disguise.
For the Lord will not hear,
Till you make yourself clean;
And start showing you fear,
Not the way you have been.
Start learning to do good,
Seek justice where in need;
Let’s reason as we should,
Be white as snow indeed.
So, if you are willing,
And be obedient;
His Word as instilling,
Faith as expedient.
