Let no one pass any judgment,
On you questioning food or drink;
That would be causing you torment,
And not allowing you to think.
With regard to a festival,
Or a new moon or Sabbath days;
They are speaking of things evil,
By anyone who disobeys.
These are shadows of things to come,
But the substance belongs to Christ;
That only the second Adam,
His return after sacrificed.
Let no one beguile you,
By the worshipping of angels;
For the austerity construe,
Of lighting incense or candles.
They pass on detail of visions,
Puffed up by their sensuous minds;
Paints a portrait of illusions,
That mystifies as it spellbinds.
But not to hold fast to the Head,
Which all the body by the joints;
Has nourished ministered instead,
In which our Lord God anoints.
The ligaments knit together,
On the joints God causes to grow;
Interwoven just like heather,
Strengthened by the blood of life flow.
If with Jesus that you have died,
From the rudiments of this place;
You still live in the crucified,
Because the Father gave His grace.
Do not handle, nor taste, nor touch,
Referring to things that perish;
According to precepts as such,
And all commandments you cherish.
The doctrines and teachings of men,
With an appearance of wisdom;
They are reasons God did condemn,
For illusions of His Kingdom.
A religion that is self-made,
The body of Christ neglected;
Rather letting flesh a strayed,
And corruption is expected.
