I Remember When
I Remember When
As my life's path
Grows shorter each day
My memories that flow
To never end I pray
I remember when
Back to a different time
While times were hard
People weren't so blind
At the holiday table
My memories requested
But times have changed
With me they are now rested
Families had their difference
But come the end of a day
Family was family
No one left to stray
No doors slammed shut
Or care unshown
Differences were a thing
That were easily out grown
On holidays all would gather
Of which Memories rest upon
With the only empty chair
Of those who had passed on
There was no such thing
From the family shut out
Come the end of a day
Anger was worked out
I don't understand
This world we now live
No one has time
Or want of self to give
No want or need
Of our memories to hear
The days of back when
Die with me I fear
After we are gone
Will our memories of back then
Grow forever silent
Who Will Remember When

ღ God asked me how long I planned on keeping you in my life.
I smiled and said...
How do I choose between always and forever...
But then I have found that's really not up to me... ღ
