I came to the Philippines ten years ago
So much here unfound where ever one goes
But I at all time see many struggling so
Without complaining and to me that shows
There's no hand outs like in some countries
They just manage best they can all the time
I come across the poor handicaped some ill
And every now and then I pass some blind
No way I can pass by without giving some
To those less as lucky as I am in life
When we go we don't take anything with us
Yet they smile and tolerate their strife
I'm no prayer or religious soul that be
Like my own dad I'm a doer born and bred
And I get such pleasure helping others
Making it possible to see children fed
There's many here that could help way more
A lot wealthier than I'll ever in life be
A little here a little there helps so much
To if possible set a few more burdens free
Often the old the ill those with weight
To carry from day to day with their pain
And often many have children at school
I see it all the time here again again
They don't know me nor do I know them
Just the way my dad raise me so long ago
Love to see more with compasion for them
A little here a little there helps you know
