One Hazey Day in Summer

One hazey day in summer
I laid under a large oak
tree.

I listened to the birds
singing, as you say down
next to me.

I remember that day so clearly
the subtle sound of music in the
distance, as teenage kids hung
out enjoying the nice weather
they came here daily.

Dog walkers meet up to gossip
about their day to day lives.
Women talk all about thier husband's
and in turn they talk about thier
wives.

One hazy day in summer, we sat and
watched the world go by. Drinking
rum and coke, and eating Mr Kipling's
Apple pies.

I remember the busker, singing a lullaby
a hat full of loose change, and his
dog sat by his side.
His songs made my heart burst open wide.

One hazy, crazey day in summer, we got
lost in the crowd. Stroling through the
chaos, in a city that is so loud.

The sound of sirens echoes as a constant
hum, as blue light create a cascade of
colour that carrupts the night.
