Leal falls gently to the ground
Within it's dancing motion so
It lands within a nearby stream
And slowly makes way in flow
Stopping here there on it's way
Each time spending a day or two
Then once again it makes it's way
Closer still towards the ocean blue
Time to it of no concern in it's travel
Feeling it is doing all things just right
Already long forgotten the mother tree
Owned by the stream day and night
Unaware of the powers that as if own it
Thinking life is natural and as should be
Even the stream telling it when to move
As it goes in time closer yet to the sea
Other leaves some older younger pass it
As it does as it thinks all fallen leaves do
Some become a part of things on the way
And it may on the way joins with others too
It's very being just a leaf making it's way
Doing as all leaves do to retain peace of mind
Not being aware of the streams power that be
Not imagening streams are at times so unkind
Not feeling as great as it was long before falling
So aware younger leaves grow older leaves fall
But it coming from a mother like a beautiful tree
It counts it's blessings having been created at all
Not thinking a lot of it's tomorrows yesterdays
Apprecaiting the stream carrying it each day
With new surroundings all along longest path
As it slowly upon it's stream gently makes way
Eventually it finds a place to rest awhile enjoy
Taking time to think of how far it's traveled so
Soon to become a part of what it's mother in
And thus so helping yet another tree to grow
