Your Word is a lamp to my feet,
A light that guides me on the path;
Guiding me so I do not meet,
A fate that is upon your wrath.
I have sworn an oath and confirmed,
For keeping all your righteous rules;
In which it has always affirmed,
To remain my spiritual tools.
I am severely afflicted,
God gives me assurance to life;
So that I am not addicted,
To the temptations causing strife.
He accepts freewill offering,
In praising all that He has taught;
Giving insurance covering,
The trueness that having been sought.
I have held my life in my hand,
But never forgetting His Law;
It is precious for each command,
So that I will not have a flaw.
The wicked have laid out a snare,
From His precepts I do not stray;
Because He will make me aware,
If I ever may disobey.
Testimonies are heritage,
Forever a joy in my heart;
Not being of a sinful wage,
Rather constantly to impart.
I incline my heart to perform,
Statutes forever to the end;
Never to be ever lukewarm,
Because my God also my friend.
