I then was taking on painting contracts
A Salvation Army unit repaint long ago
A young woman just moved into it
A beautiful soul in every way it's so
We got talking about life laughing some
She was one of the stolen children told
They had taken her from family when
She was then only only ten years old
Had no friends outside this as if school
Where they'd taken her to as a child
Spoke with such sincerity and kindness
A forgiving heart as gentle as it was mild
She said she would be going later to
Where her people came from long ago
She explained her parents had long died
Never knew any from childhood was so
We became good friends and she asked me
I have nobody that I can really call my own
She asked I'd just love to go back pregnant
And take some of myself back to my home
We talked of this and decided to do this
It was her own choice and it came to be
She eventually went back to her people
And I think of her still in all of sincerity
I as a boy grew with aboriginals loved them
They taught me more than they could know
Have never met one in my life to this day
I never had respect for come what may it's so
Much of what they taught me over time
Saved my life on many a given day
But this is not the planet I was born on
How I wished sincerely it could be dare I say
