That which was from the beginning,
Of what many already heard;
In which our eyes saw sinning,
Have not abided by the Word.
We looked and touched with our hands,
With concerning the Word of life;
Life manifested by commands,
Disregarding toils and strife.
We testify as we proclaim,
Eternal life made manifest;
So we worship and praise His name,
He forgives after we confessed.
Our fellowship with the Son,
Brings fellowship with the Father;
Honoring of all He has done,
So Christ can be our Brother.
Our joy has been made complete,
For everything that I write;
So that we can be His elite,
As we are walking in His light.
This is the message we have heard,
In which I have declared to you;
There is no darkness in the Word,
For God is light all the way through.
If we say that we have fellowship,
While we walk in the darkness;
We practice not truth from the lip,
As lies expose our starkness.
If we are walking in the light,
His blood has cleansed us from within;
Because we are living upright,
And we will be free of all sin.
If we say that we have no sin,
Then the truth is not within us;
And without any discipline,
As the darkness shrouds us as thus.
But if our sins we confess,
Our God is faithful and just;
Cleanses us the unrighteousness,
If we are putting our trust
