I Bend My Knee

I Bend My Knee Sept 4, 2020

I bend my knee with my brothers
United for freedom with others
I bow my head and hold my heart
When does my freedom start
Treated so wrong for many years
Killed for peace, a black man's tears
I remember Bobby those H Block years
The Irish nation still has fears
Bloody Sunday or Chicago tears
My country is my mother
A son of Ireland or Africa
Religion or the color of skin
Taken from life by a knee or a gun
Sentenced to die by the powers that be
No more deaths we want to be free
The world asks why for you and me
Africa and Ireland must be free
The knee of death must go
Walk with me and start our show
I want my life, I want my peace
Freedoms walk the trouble must cease
I bend my knee with my brothers
United in freedom with others
