You were at one time in darkness,
But now you are light in the Lord;
Walking as children in starkness,
Within His light in one accord.
The fruit of the Spirit is found,
The righteous goodness of the truth;
Proving the acceptable sound,
That pleases the Lord in your youth.
Take no part in unfruitful deeds,
Works from the darkness and expose;
It is shameful to speak the needs,
What forces of darkness propose.
When something exposed by the light,
The shadows become visible;
Exposing the evil of the night,
Which will make it vulnerable.
Awake O sleeper and arise,
The visible light of Christ shines;
See the truth with opened eyes,
For He has given wondrous signs.
Look carefully with where you walk,
Not as a fool rather as wise;
Making the best on how you talk,
Evil will hide with a disguise.
Therefore do not become foolish,
Understand what the Lord would do;
Abolish what was childish,
Being mature what you construe.
Never get drunk in drinking wine,
Because that is debauchery;
Be filled with the Spirit to shine,
Avoiding any adultery.
Sing unto the spiritual songs,
Making melody with your heart;
As the Father forgives your wrongs,
Enables you make a new start.
Give God thanks for everything,
Praising the Father of the Lord;
Thanking for all He did bring,
As you remain in one accord.
