The Backyard Of My Life

Yesterdays Children

Riding the river under the silver stars
Lazy lights are pretty over the bridge
Paper flowers folding into the underground
Taking a trip through the universe tonight

Glide the clouds to a thousand setting suns
Fall into the sky with wings of compassion
Velvet moon rising in the midnight hour
There's a Plasticine portrait picture on the mantelpiece

Sands of time twist and turn
Trying to find our way back home
Wonder when will we learn
Nothings ever set in stone

Walking the yellow brick road with sued shoes
Wild horses run free in diamond meadows
Wheels of fire spinning deep in the darkness
Standing solo wearing raincoats

Flying the highway in the black and white sunshine
Never looking back we where yesterdays children
Cinnamon holes in the middle of the ocean
Far far away somewhere down memory lane

Sands of time dust to dust
Trying to find our way back home
Do what you can do what you must
Nothings ever set in stone
Nothings ever set in stone
Nothings ever set in stone
