The Memories I Keep

Blinded by the Light

I wandered in a dark cruel world, broken and all alone
Searching for a friendly light, a place to call my own
And in my fruitless quest, I settled for things of greed
But I can't reap a harvest, when I haven't sown a seed

My hunger for some love, was way too much to bear
Then God came down and filled me, and told me I should share
So now I spread the light, with every chance I can
But sometimes with my shine, I blind my fellow man

I have the best intentions, but that doesn't make ‘em right
When in my zest to change the world, leaves it blinded by the light
So please forgive me Lord, for I know not what to do
Please touch the ones I've blinded, and guide them back to you
