The Void

Into the New Horizon

Here we are, the year 2020 a year we won't forget
In a hurry.
As a world wide pandemic has caused suffering
and chaos. As the death toll rose, thousands
began to worry. Governments raged war
war on the virus; as cities were ordered into lockdown

People across the nation were told to go into
self- isolation.
Daily updates, kept us clued in. Fearful of
confusing the British population.
The government appeared on T.V. with
mixed visual representation.

Public conveniences are forced to thier
doors. Pubs, clubs, restaraunts and
bars.Mc Donald's, Burger King and K.F.C,
closed. Except for drive thrus.

Which meant miles of traffic jams
and even more cars.

All the schools closed down, to
control the spread of the virus.
The elderly and those with underlying
conditions are most at risk.

Many people worldwide have now been
infected.and hundred of thousands are
now dead.

Doctors and nurses worked on the front
line. In a daily battle to save lives.
As employees worked from home; so they
can keep everything on track.

To make sure that society still thrives.
All our care homes are in isolation, residents
in lockdown. Shut out from the world outside,
frustrated and scared, but not alone.

As relatives communicate through windows, it's
the same in all the British nations.

We came together and showed our appreciation, as
we clapped for our NHS, for those who fought to
preserve life.
As the government.changes its legislation, while
we continue to vent our anger and frustration.
Into the new horizon, we will find our way.

There is a brighter future on the other side.
Now our cities are in lockdown again;split into
tiers, as Covvid 19 cases rise. We take some comfort
in that we still have hope, as our towns and cities
devide.

Christmas is just around the corner, and it will be
very different this year. We will make of it what we can.
Whilst decorating our homes with all the good cheer.

We'll still put tinsle on the tree, baubles and bells.
Candy Cain and ginger bread men, everything the same way.
Knowing that we will all be out of this chaos one day.

2020, said to be the greatest year yet.
As we wait for Brexit to conclude, this is a year we shall
never forget.
