Looking Through My Life's Window ~ Memories Of Christmas' Past
Looking Through My Life's Window
Memories Of Christmas' Past
I sit here
With just a few days to go
Before that blessed day
And my memories do flow
It's back to a time
Of so much love and joy
Of a Mom and Dad
Two girls and a boy
The decorations were up
And oh the awesome baking smells
Would fill the house
Memories that make this old heart swell
Times were hard, way back then
But the house was beautiful and filled with love
And this was my Mother's time to shine
We always felt God sent blessing from above
It was a time
When family really did count
Family was Family
And not a one was left out
Christmas wasn't just one day
It went on much longer
Gatherings with Family
Each year the bond stronger
Christmas Eve dinner at Aunt Mary's
Aunt Lilly's for breakfast
Christmas Day at Dad's and Grandma's
The following week each nite a different feast
The years so quickly passed
As did the elders we held so dear
But new babies were born
As life did switch a gear
My early years I will cherish
For as long as I live
To my children and theirs
My memories I do give
I pray they look back
With the same full heart
That has been mine
From my very start.
So carry your joy forward
And memories for years to come
Just please never forget
Where you came from
ღ God asked me how long I planned on keeping you in my life.
I smiled and said...
How do I choose between always and forever...
But then I have found that's really not up to me... ღ
