This I testify in the Lord,
No longer walk as Gentiles;
Vanity of idols adored,
In the immoral lifestyles.
They darkened in understanding,
Alienated life from God;
Ignorance of His commanding,
As you fall victim to a fraud.
They are callous hardness of heart,
Sensual impure having greed;
A lasciviousness to impart,
Satisfy their sexual need.
That is not the way you learned Christ,
And assuming that you have heard;
Allowing not to be enticed,
As prohibited in the Word.
You were taught in Him of the truth,
Put off the old self and its ways;
Avoiding the ways of your youth,
The temptation that one strays.
For your former manner of life,
Corrupt deceitful desires;
The lusts that caused you so much strife,
Create hardship that transpires.
Renew the spirit of your mind,
Becoming as a new person;
So you and God to be aligned,
While able to think as one.
Create in a likeness of the Lord,
Created in His righteousness;
For remaining in one accord,
And living in true holiness.
