I lift my eyes up to the hills,
For the assistance of its source;
Because of the help that it wills,
Giving me strength to stay the course.
My help is coming from the Lord,
The One who made Heaven and earth;
And I remain in one accord,
For knowing of His priceless worth.
He will not let your foot be moved,
He who keeps you will not slumber;
He helped you on what He approved,
To ease the burden you encumber.
It is He who keeps Israel,
Will neither slumber nor will sleep;
Watching the valley and the hill,
Like a shepherd over His sheep.
Because the Lord is your keeper,
The Lord is your shade with His hand;
While He comforts you the weeper,
Remaining tall where you may stand.
That sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor shall the moon strike you by night;
As long as you trust and obey,
While remaining in His light.
The Lord will keep you from evil,
He will be preserving your soul;
Ensure to avoid the devil,
From ever in taking control.
The Lord will keep your going out,
As well as of your coming in;
From this time forth without a doubt,
Forevermore avoiding sin.
