The Backyard Of My Life

Echoes/Lily Of The Valley

Well she came in out of nowhere
Painting a wish up on a velvet sky
Speaking softly a sweet Sunday prayer
With the look of love in her angel eyes
While the choir sang Lily of the valley
I was falling fast a breath away from heaven

She looks like a goddess
She smells like wild flowers
She walks like they walk on the cat walk
Shes got some kind of magical powers
It echoes when she calls my name

As she swept through the ball room
Leaving behind a trail like a shooting star
Meet me by the light of a mystical moon
Lifting back the veil to show me who you really are
While she whispers promises of passion
Listening to church bells chime in the rain

She looks like Marilyn Monroe
She moves like a blonde bombshell
She talks like they talk in the movies
Shes got a room with a view at heartbreak hotel
The more things change the more they stay the same

Lost as a snowflake in the sea
Your lighthouse shines on my soul
In the tempest of love shes somewhere here with me

Well she burst in and stole the scene
Creating colours on cotton clouds of white
Half her life is going where the other half's been
Bringing the invisible into plain sight
While we were both waiting for the rapture
I was slowly slipping a step closer to Nirvana
