Mistakes

Close your eyes,
Where did I go?
Can you see me?
What's there to hide?
Who would I show?
It's a blessing, and, for me,
It's a bright shiny light,
In the form of a memory,

After bein beat by the odds,
Standin up to the crowds,
Those who've fought & lost,
Left there, full of doubt.

My heart pounds,
The earth quakes.
What still remains,
It's left to be given.
That's when I made the decision.
To share with you, all of my mistakes,
Hopin you're wise enough to listen,
So that you won't have to relive'em.

Slow down, be still.
Look in my eyes,
Let yourself feel.
Try to realize,
See & be real.
Be the prize,
Instead of a meal.
