The Backyard Of My Life

Castle Somewhere In The Sky

Picture yourself on a day that never ends
With the sun in your eyes and your head in the clouds
Walking down the long and winding road
Standing at the bottom of a spiral staircase
At a golden gate where white doves cry
Meet me at a castle somewhere in the sky

Imagine yourself on boat under moonlight
While the stars up above walk the heavens hand in hand
With Lillie's on the water and magic in the air
Looking out across the milky way at a distant galaxy
Holding a colorful carnation with wings to fly
Take me away to a castle somewhere up in the sky

Help me to help myself to a piece of paradise
Echoes of a world long gone fantasy and illusion
When i need some emotional refuge a place to escape
On the edge of the night somewhere beautiful and romantic

Picture yourself on a twilight train at midnight
With a ticket to ride to the palace of Crystal birds
Reading a poem written on a subway wall
Looking for an antidote to chaos
While pipes of peace play wipe that tear away from your eye
She holds the key to a castle somewhere in the sky

Imagine yourself on a bridge by a fountain
Watching little paper ships slowly sailing down the river
A passenger observing evenings empire
Washed up far away over the rainbow
To the tune of a thousand trumpets she said it kind of sly
Meet me tomorrow at a castle somewhere in the sky
