Poetic Verses
Money
It's called the root of evil
And sadly, it is true
That money is the driving force
So many now pursue.
But it cannot buy them happiness
And I for one should know
Because I never had so much
Being poor, but even so.
My blessings are abundant
Which I consider wealth
A few good friends and family
And a measure of good health.
But I've seen the trappings of it
In those consumed with lust
Whose god is found in pots of gold
Wherein they place their trust.
But the wise man clearly understands
Just where his treasure lies
He lays them up in Heaven for
An inheritance when he dies.
Yes, it is the root of evil
And sadly, remains true
That money is the driving force
So many now pursue.
