Helping memories to survive,
Relatives from the past
Not one of them now alive.
Looking at modern photos
The young ones of today
I can see resemblances to
Some of those passed away.
So the genes survive
In this latest generation,
They have all ensured
The family's continuation.
The years have flowed by
I really don't know how
And it's hard to accept
That I'm the Grandad now.
