I want you to know,
That what has happened;
Really serves to show,
To boost the Gospel.
It has become known,
Throughout the whole guard;
What prison has shown,
To have a high regard.
Bonds we manifest,
Through Christ in this place;
That we have been blest,
By His holy grace.
We are confident,
Being in prison;
Sets His precedent,
Honoring the Son.
We are much more bold,
Speaking without fear;
The Gospel is told,
Be humbly sincere.
Some indeed preach Christ,
Of rivaled envy;
From good will enticed,
As topsy turvy.
I do out of love,
Knowing why I’m here;
Defending above,
As the time draws near.
I know I am set,
Preaching of the Lord;
For who paid my debt,
It is not ignored.
That in every way,
In pretense or truth;
To trust and obey,
No longer uncouth.
So Christ is proclaimed,
In that I rejoice;
Never be ashamed,
To lift up my voice.
