Be merciful to me, O God,
For in You I can take refuge;
Be shadowed by Your wings I laud,
To shield from the evil deluge.
Shield until all the storms pass by;
You fulfill Your purpose in me;
O God I cry to the Most High,
All knowing in all that You see.
You will come from Heaven to save,
Trample my foe and put to shame;
Steadfast love rescues from the grave,
Faithfulness to those who proclaim.
My soul in the midst of tigers,
I lie down amid hungry beasts;
Any of my movement angers,
Contemplating me for their feasts.
Be exalted, God of Heaven,
Let Your glory cover the earth;
Showing the salvation given,
Displaying of its priceless worth.
They prepared a snare for my feet,
As they dug a pit in my way;
But they have fallen in defeat,
Because the fact they disobey.
My heart remains steadfast, O God,
I will sing and make melody;
Worshipping to honor and laud,
For I stay in Your custody.
I awake as darkness is gone,
Praising to give thanks to You;
I awake at the break of dawn,
Singing praises as I construe.
Your mercy great unto Heaven,
Your faithfulness shines in the clouds;
For the steadfast love is given,
As the truth is told to the crowds.
Be exalted O God above,
Let Your glory cover the earth;
Mercy from Your steadfast love,
With the miracle of new birth.
