Distant Gaze
Photos composed like a sympathy in my head
Music that plays to the beat of your heart
Till the dreams crush the vision red
Until it tears me apart
Something isn't wired right
Only to be consumed in pain
Another sleepless night
Bound by an unavoidable chain
Voices with eyes closed
The sounds of a lullaby
So beautifully composed
As they violently start to untie
Impacts of a catastrophe
Craters left in this lone soul
The feeling of all this agony
Makes me aware im not whole
Absent of the devastation
A purity of content can be seen
Only felt with adoration
But it's mixed with this routine
Something in me can't seem to amend
An emptiness that can't replace
Only left to pretend
But it feels so out of place
The raw affliction
As these replay through my mind
The constant inflection
Shouldn't be how its designed
The music doesn't cease
Still audible through the roaring blaze
A lullaby of peace
With an angel's distant gaze
